Some love it for the warm, pristine sound quality or the crackly nostalgia of hearing the needle glide through the grooves. Others enjoy the tactile experience of opening a record, laying it on the turntable and focusing their attention on just one thing—The sonic equivalent of cracking open a book.

Whether you’re an audiophile record collector, casual listener, or still scratching your head about the whole thing, it’s undeniable: Vinyl is here to stay.
Even as streaming music flourishes and dominates our listening, our appetite for vinyl keeps growing: Over the last 12 years, U.S. vinyl sales have grown every year, with similar upward trends happening around the world.
The new-and-improved Sonos Play:5 is a Play:5 in name only - it's been completely re-engineered by Sonos. No part has been left the same. It may have that similar lozenge look that the original. I have a 5.1 setup for my TV and also listen to music in the 'TV Room.' Everythings seems to be working correctly with my Playbar, Sub and two Play:1 speakers. Just one questions I haven't found directly answered on the forum or in support: There are two check boxes in the controller.
- Did you know that it is possible to make a room play automatically every time something plays into the Line-in input?Let’s see how to do it.My other Sonos ho.

With Sonos, you don’t have to choose between streaming and spinning. In addition to working with over 80 digital music services, our home sound system can plug right into your turntable setup and let you fill your home with the warm sound of your favorite albums on vinyl.
Connect your turntable to your Sonos system
There are three ways to do this. You’ll need one of the following Sonos products:
Five (+ Stereo Mini to RCA Y-Audio Cable)
Amp
Port
Of course, you’ll also need a turntable, like the T1 SB Phono turntable from Pro-Ject. We recommend that one because it has a phono preamp built in. If your turntable doesn’t have a phono preamp (most of them don’t), you’ll need to get one for the Sonos vinyl experience to work best. You can learn more about this on our Community site.
Once you have everything you need, just follow the appropriate set of instructions below:
For Five and Play:5
Plug your turntable directly into our biggest speaker using the line-in port on the back.
Plug the single end of an RCA Y-audio cable into the line-in port of Five/Play:5 and attach the split cable to the corresponding colors of the L/R audio outputs on the back of your turntable.
For Amp
If you have a turntable and third party speakers but no amplifier, you can connect them to the Sonos system directly using Sonos Amp.
Just take the audio cable that comes with your Amp. Plug one end into the your turntable and the other end into corresponding colors of the L/R inputs at the back of your Sonos Amp.
For Port
Sonos Port is perfect if you already have an amplifier and a set of third-party speakers. Port lets you use your amplified audio equipment to bring the sound of your vinyl collection into your Sonos system—and to more rooms.
Just take the audio cable that comes with your Port. Plug one end into your turntable and the other end into the corresponding colors of the L/R inputs at the back of your Port.

Switch the audio source in your Sonos app to Line-in
Open the Sonos app on your phone or tablet. Go to the Browse tab, select Line-in, and then choose the Line-in source. You can even set up AutoPlay so your Sonos system knows it’s time to switch into vinyl mode as soon as the needle drops.
Bonus: Add extra speakers and rooms
If you have multiple Sonos devices set up in different rooms, you can group them together using the Rooms tab in the Sonos app and spread the sound of your favorite vinyl throughout your home.
