Dell Latitude 5480 Sim Card Slot

If you are looking for a small yet powerful notebook, Dell has the offer for you. The new Latitude 5480 features a Intel Core i7-7820HQ processors and high build quality.

The technology to connect an external desktop graphics card to a laptop is available from a rather short period of time. Companies like Razer, AKiTiO, and ASUS crated devices which allow you connect an external GPU to a laptop via a Thunderbolt 3. These devices are equipped with their own internal power supply and are compatible with almost every graphics card manufactured by AMD and NVIDIA.

How to WWAN (SIM Card) Activation for DELL Latitude E5440 Hello, I bought a new DELL Latitude E5440 and I need to use the Data SIM card instead of USB modems, I found a port in the back panel (beneath the battery) and it fits Micro-SIM. The sm slot underneath the battery is not active it is a dead slot. You cannot use it unless you. Insert the SIM card into the slot available in the battery bay. (see note above that you ensure exactly where your SIM card slot is located. While MOST are in the battery bay, yours may be located in a different place on your system.).

You need a powerful CPU to make use of such a dock. The gorgeous-looking and slim ultrabooks with ULV processors are unfortunately not suitable for such needs. The problem with them is that they have low computing power which can severely bottleneck the high-performance graphics cards which isn’t the point.

The notebooks that feature a powerful quad-core CPU and the necessary Thunderbolt 3 port are usually big and bulky and also not particularly shoulder-friendly when it comes to weight. Dell has a model that is almost ideal for an external GPU – the XPS 15. The only setback is the Thunderbolt 3 port which gives a speed of 16 Gbps (half of its potential) when an eGPU (External GPU) is connected which is not enough for a powerful graphics cards like the GTX 1080.

The new model from Dell’s lineup is equipped with all the necessary components. With it’s four physical and eight logical cores the Core i7-7820HQ has the computing power to run every task fluently while the 14-inch screen and weight of just 1.6 kilos make the notebook quite a portable device. The model also features a Thunderbolt 3 port running at full speed. Latitude 5840 is a business laptop that despite its power doesn’t feel like a toy. The spec sheet of the notebook includes a SIM card slot, WWAN, WiGig, camera with iris detection capabilities, Smart Card slot, fingerprint reader and a touchscreen.

This is how the eGPU docking station from AKiTiO looks like

The drawback of this model is the internal graphics card that it is equipped with – the low-end GeForce 930MX chip. The price of the model will be around $2000 and it is backed by a three year warranty.

Dell Latitude 5840 will probably fit the market in about a month. Meanwhile, you can check all available Dell notebooks over here: http://amzn.to/2kEqQkx

Hello Michael,

the Dell Latitude 5480 come with two processors, i7-7600U or i7 7820HQ.
Few weeks ago I buyed a 5480 with i7 7820HQ and it is diferent to your 5480, my 5480 dont have a SATA port (JSATA1).
I install a 512 SSD in the WWAN M.2 slot (512GB ZTC Armor 42mm M.2 NGFF 6G SSD) and can confirm is runnig well and yes I can use both SSDs, one in the PCIe M.2 slot and another one in the WWAN M.2.
